Louisville musicians play benefit for Hurricane Katrina victims

"On Jan. 10, members of two great Louisville bands will join forces with other musicians for a benefit concert at the House of Blues Parish Room in New Orleans for musicians displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

Jon Langford and Sally Timms of The Mekons, Patrick Hallahan of My Morning Jacket, Charles Bisell of The Wrens, Kimya Dawson (who recently contributed eight songs to the hit movie Juno), Timothy Bracy of Mendoza Line, Janet Bean of Freakwater and Craig Klein, Matt Perrine, Eric Bolivar & Bert Cotton of Bonerama will perform. Showtime is 9 p.m.

This concert benefits Sweet Home New Orleans, an umbrella organization for 14 non-profit agencies serving New Orleans' music community that provides relocation, housing and social services to musicians in need.
